What we do at KRIS-MET

We’ve been in business for over 10 years. During that time, we’ve installed hundreds of fences, staircases, and gates—primarily in Zielona Góra and the Lubusz Voivodeship, but we’ve also traveled much further afield when the client knew what they wanted and trusted us.

We’re a workshop run by just a few people. We’re not a large company, and we don’t pretend to be. Every order goes to the same people – we do all the welding, galvanizing, and assembly ourselves. Therefore, we know what we’re delivering to the customer and what we’re responsible for.

Everything we do is hot-dip galvanized before the powder is sprayed. This isn’t standard in this industry – but that’s how it’s been for us from the start, and we have no intention of changing it.

Fences

Fences are probably the biggest part of our work. We’ve been building them in Zielona Góra and the surrounding area for years, and in that time, we’ve seen it all: plots with difficult access, old houses where every post is crooked, and modern designs where the architect has a specific vision and won’t give up. We can handle each of these situations.

Classic wrought iron, modern slatted, paneled – we don’t have one favorite style. We create what the client wants and what suits the space. If someone brings in an Instagram photo and says, “I want something like this,” we can usually make it or suggest something close.

Before painting, each fence is hot-dip galvanized. It might seem like a minor detail, but that’s why our fences still stand up after 20 years and don’t look like rust on a stick.

  • Wrought iron fences – classic patterns and ornaments
  • Modern fences – lamella, panel, minimalist
  • Steel and concrete foundations
  • Hot-dip galvanizing + powder coating (any RAL color)
  • Design, pricing and installation in one place

Balustrades

We do balustrades both outdoors – on patios and balconies – and indoors. Interior balustrades are a slightly different story, as every detail is truly visible. The client stands nearby and looks closely, so the welds must be clean, the lines straight, and everything must hold well and look good at the same time.

We have clients who want something classic—forged ornaments, traditional designs. And we have clients who want black steel and glass for a modern look. We’re happy to do both. We don’t have a favorite style—we have a favorite level of craftsmanship.

  • Terrace and balcony balustrades
  • Interior stair railings
  • Steel + glass, steel + wood, forged steel
  • Classic and modern style
  • On-site assembly and welding or factory prefabrication

Gates and wickets

Your gate is the first thing you see when returning home, and the last thing you see when leaving. That’s why it’s important to keep it looking good – and to keep it running smoothly for years, not just the first two winters.

We build double-leaf and sliding gates, including self-supporting ones – where it’s impossible to run a rail along the ground. We can connect an electric drive to most gates if the customer desires automation. We select the actuator based on the gate’s weight and size, install it, and commission it.

We always try to match the style of our gates to the overall look. It creates a more cohesive look and simply looks better.

  • Double-leaf gates – wrought iron and modern
  • Sliding gates, including self-supporting ones
  • Automation – selection, installation, commissioning
  • Entrance gates matched to the gate
  • Possibility of connecting an intercom and videophone

Stairs

Steel stairs are one of the most challenging projects – there’s truly no room for error. They must be even, accurate to the millimeter, and fit into a space that we often don’t fully see at the design stage.

We create single- and double-flight stairs, stringers, and spiral staircases. We finish the treads with wood, granite, or checkered metal – depending on where the stairs will be placed and what their desired appearance will be. Exterior staircases are usually made of galvanized or stainless steel, while interior staircases are often combined with wood.

We always add a balustrade to the stairs to keep the overall style in line.

  • Single and double flight stairs
  • Spiral and stringer stairs
  • Steps: wood, granite, checkered sheet metal, glass
  • External stairs – galvanized and stainless steel
  • Complete balustrade – same style, same hands

Steel structures

This term covers a lot of different things – shelters, pergolas, entrance canopies, frames for photovoltaic panels, substructures for anything that someone wants to attach to the ground or a wall and make it durable.

Some clients come with a ready-made technical drawing, others simply state their goal, and then we work together to determine how to achieve it. We offer MIG/MAG and TIG welding, selecting the appropriate method based on the material and project requirements.

  • Garages and utility sheds
  • Garden and terrace pergolas
  • Roofs for entrances and passages
  • Custom-made frames and structures
  • MIG/MAG, TIG welding – on-site or in-house

Safety grates

We make custom grilles—because windows rarely come in standard dimensions, and off-the-shelf grilles usually don’t match in size or appearance. We make them plain or with a decorative pattern, depending on what complements the facade.

We always ask our clients one question: should the grate be permanently bolted down, or should it be hinged and openable from the inside? This is especially true for ground floor and basement floors – a hinged grate can prove crucial in the event of a fire. This isn’t a detail to be overlooked.

  • Custom-made window grilles – fixed and tilting
  • Grilles for basement and garage doors
  • Simple or decorative patterns
  • Anti-panic system (opening from the inside in an emergency)
  • Galvanizing and powder coating

Metal furniture

It’s a slightly different category than the rest of our work, but we love it. Forged steel furniture has a character that can’t be imitated by any piece of furniture. We make garden benches, tables, chairs, bed frames, and various other things that clients come up with—usually after seeing something in a loft or industrial style and wanting it for their home.

Several projects started with a smartphone photo and the thought, “Can something like this be done?” It can be done. It usually turned out even better than the photo.

  • Garden and park benches
  • Tables and chairs – loft and industrial style
  • Forged steel bed frames
  • Metal racks and shelves
  • Made to measure and according to the client’s design

Canopies, flower stands and more

Not every order is a large project. Some clients come in looking for a canopy over their front door, others for a flower stand for their balcony, and others want candle holders for an outdoor event. We do it all and treat it just as seriously as larger orders – because for the person ordering the canopy, that canopy is as important as a gate for someone else.

We also offer TRXs—homemade exercise handles suspended from a frame. Several of these structures are already installed in customers’ gardens and garages.

  • Door canopies – steel and polycarbonate
  • Flower stands and flower stands
  • Wrought iron candlesticks and lanterns
  • TRXs – exercise frames and handles
  • All decorative elements made to order
